I really hope the MC is less of a fool in this one.. The obtuseness of the MC in the first book nearly drove me to stop listening to the book altogether.
He seemed to never ask the correct question when he had the chance and the lack just got annoying. So much more could plausibly have been learnt. Also the total lack of intellect the feeling that the MC couldn’t ever be bothered with anything outside of swinging his sword. Like how to make a fire. How stupid does one have to be to not be able to figure out how to start a fire if one actually put ones mind to doing so. Fecking proto humans figured out how to.. Its as if the guys had a brain wipe and then been narrowly re-programmed along with having some sort of metaphysical blinders tacked onto his brain. I hope some answer and fix to this issue will forthcoming in the last chapter of book one where I am paused atm or in book 2 because I don’t think I can take much more of this.
