This might be an unpopular opinion here but Sanderson currently want to expand the options for writers when it comes to audiobooks because Audible has about 70% of the market & if you don’t deal with them you’re looking to severely cut your audience reach and money. Audible pretty much have a near monopoly in the audiobook market. So Sanderson is asking people who read/listen to his books to purchase them from Dragonsteel, Spotify, or Speechify as a wedge to give other independent writers options when Audible terms are pretty much crap.

I think you’re barking up the wrong tree here. People here don’t even pay for audiobooks when it comes to supporting the author, whether because they financially can’t or just decide not to. So paying extra money just for a moral crusade against audible seems like a big ask.
On the other hand, users of this site are also not contributing to audible’s monopoly in the first place, so there’s that at least

I’m curious how you were able to make the file size so small, since from what I understand, the text version of the book is around 450 pages.
Also, how long is the audiobook?

The file size and bit rate are just as they were when distributed, I did not alter either in anyway. The length of the book is 12:27:12.
I support Mr Sanderson in what he’s doing and think he’s correct, Amazon has way to much control over many aspects in most of our lives. That would be me paraphrasing and reading some of the subtext, but the way Audible acts is exactly what a monopoly does, they strangle all sides of the market once they control it, so they gouge the contributors (authors and publishers in this case) and then dont pass (as they are paying less than true market value) down to the consumer.
I had previously seen Daniels video as well as the one Mr Sanderson made that originally addressed this issue (I also read the same statement on his website) but fail to see where in the context of using this website how they are relevant. We are all book lovers, but inherently are at least semi-adverse to always paying for them. It would be like if a band of pirates tried help one government overthrow another, both governments still dislike the pirates… I dont know if thats a great analogy but its late where I do be, yar.

you include a torrent file:

INSIDE the torrent, this can cause problems, especially if it’s the same torrent you uploaded. It can make it unseedable.
